Economic Security Committee

The Economic Security Committee discusses issues relating to Childcare, Housing and Homelessness, Working Poor, and Pay Equality.  The committee was very glad to support the passage of the following bills during the 2019 Legislative Session:

SHB 1303  An Act relating to improve access and completion for students at institutions of higher education, especially at community and technical colleges, by removing restrictions on subsidized child care.
ESHB 1453 An act relating to residential tenant protections.
2SHB 1603   An act relating to revising economic assistance programs by updating standards of need, revising outcome measures and data collected, and reducing barriers to participation.
ESHB 1696 An act relating to wage and salary information.
2SSB 5437 Expanding eligibility to the early childhood education and assistance program.
